What's a URL?

URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is the technical term for a web address. As an example, here's one you've probably seen before:

http://www.google.com/

A URL, like a street address, points to a specific place. Since it's a web address, it points to a web page rather than a physical location. In most web browsers, the address bar shows the URL of the page you're currently viewing. The address bar is usually near the top of the browser's window.

If you'd like to learn even more, please check the Wikipedia article on URLs.
